The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) is the world’s leading coalition dedicated to protecting the dynamic legal market and reducing digital piracy. Driven by a comprehensive approach to addressing piracy through criminal referrals, civil litigation, and cease-and-desist operations, ACE has achieved many successful global enforcement actions against illegal streaming services and sources of unauthorized content and their operators. Drawing upon the collective expertise and resources of its members and reinforced by the content protection operations of the Motion Picture Association, ACE protects the creativity and innovation that drive the global growth of core copyright and entertainment industries.
The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment needed a modern website that would elevate the coalition’s profile and illustrate the global reach of its enforcement. ACE had two main objectives for the redesigned website: 1. For Consumers – Piracy deterrence and piracy education and 2. For the Entertainment Industry – A valuable recruiting tool for potential new members.

ACE came to Lounge Lizard for a website that would match its organization. Its old website was a dated microsite with limited functionality.
The current governing board members for ACE are Amazon, Apple TV+, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Sony Pictures Entertainment, ViacomCBS, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and Warner Bros, and its full membership includes nearly 30 other global entertainment companies.
Lounge Lizard Brandtenders took this project on to stand with our creative colleagues in the film and television industry, knowing that the theft of online content threatens jobs in creative communities around the world.
ACE’s new website aligns the coalition perfectly with its reputation as “…the most formidable anti-piracy association on the planet” (Torrent Freak). Our Brandtenders wanted to create a formidable look and feel as ACE regularly partners with law enforcement agencies worldwide while also educating and guiding consumers on how and where to consume content legally or report online piracy. Being closely associated with the Motion Picture Association, it was essential to keep a level of creative similarity between the two sites.
Our choice of colors, typography, and layout helped ACE be seen as the global force it truly is while representing numerous members within its network. Photos and graphics of globes and planets add to the feeling of creatives across the world.
The News section of the new website was given prominent placement for potential members to easily find and view the latest updates on ACE’s many actions. In an effort to highlight the steady and unrelenting pace of its work and demonstrate the breadth and depth of its reach into countries that may be otherwise ignored, ACE can make a solid case to companies interested in joining its global coalition.
Visitors to ACE’s website are alerted to the dangers of using pirated services and are recruited for global enforcement. They can also file piracy reports directly on the website, demonstrating that the effort to reduce piracy is a global effort.
When ACE takes down a piracy operation, it often takes ownership of the domain(s) and redirects that traffic to the ACE site. With a flashing screen that illustrates the danger of visiting piracy sites, consumers who use those services will be redirected to ACE and will see firsthand the global reach of the organization.
The redesigned website and optimized SEO for ACE will continually help the organization dramatically improve its reach and expand its anti-piracy efforts.
Education is key to ACE’s efforts, and increasing time spent on its new website furthers that goal.
“Average time on page has increased overall by 31%,” said an ACE executive. “This is a BIG DEAL. We wanted to ensure that the time spent would lengthen so we would have the most time possible to work to educate people before they leave the site!”
In addition, overall traffic to the homepage has surged, with page views up 277%, unique page views/visitors up 487%, and average time on page up 577%.
Traffic to the news page also is an essential metric for ACE. Overall traffic to the News page has increased, with page views up 87% and unique page views/visitors up 112%.
