Participating in the Lounge Lizard Scholarship Program for Web Design is an enriching and transformative experience, offering opportunities to learn, network, and build a portfolio. We are looking for students with fresh, creative ideas who are ready to design and develop a website for competition.
WHY LOUNGE LIZARD?
Your journey begins with discovering a scholarship program that aligns with your talents, interests, and career goals. In addition to $1,000, the winner has the opportunity to meet with Ken Braun, our Founder, and a long-time judge for the Webby Awards, for a design critique and discussion that past winners have described as ‘invaluable’ to their careers.
Our application process requires you to submit a web design, past or present, that showcases your creativity and understanding of today’s web design trends and possibilities.
HOW IT WORKS
- APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
- Open to students attending school in the United States.
- Applicant must be a student at an accredited school or be accepted to begin school at an accredited school within 6 months of application.
- DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
Spring Semester: Applications due by February 18th, 2024
Fall Semester: Applications due by October 2, 2024

Spring Semester: February 25th, 2024
Fall Semester: October 9, 2024

SKILLS YOU CAN GAIN OR STRENGTHEN DURING THE PROJECT
An opportunity to highlight the latest web technologies, design principles, and development tools.
Active learning both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in web design and development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Opportunity to explore advanced subjects like responsive design, UX/UI principles, and front-end and back-end development frameworks.
Hands-on design and development give you the opportunity to experience real-world challenges that are invaluable for understanding how to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.
