Dylan’s Candy Bar Partners with Lounge Lizard for a Website Redesign

With a mission to awaken the creative spirit and inner child in everyone, Dylan’s Candy Bar delights customers by merging the worlds of art, fashion and pop culture with candy to the point of overwhelming abundance.  DCB is the brainchild of Ralph Lauren’s daughter Dylan; who turned her childhood fascination of the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory into an iconic brand championed by actors, athletes, and other celebrities.  The excitement and wonder she felt as a child fuels her vision for the brand as well as the playful décor in her stores located in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Honolulu and other cities.

Lounge Lizard was hired to redesign Dylan’s Candy Bar’s homepage, master header, and product category/detail pages. These elements make up more than 75% of all the content of the site and needed to be highly flexible for a variety of content and products. The goals were to strengthen and clarify the brand, provide clear and easy to use navigation throughout their site, and drive focus to where it needs to be: the candy itself. The design was also crafted to be integrated with Shopify, which is used in-house by DCB to manage their website content and inventory. This provided them with a low-cost solution for the backend while maintaining a professional look on the front end. Since the redesign has been implemented, Dylan’s Candy Bar has seen more user retention on their site as well as an increase in online sales.  Sweet!
